Anyone can skydive... and I do mean anyone! As long as you are fit and well then you can take part in our Summer Skydive on Saturday 4th September 2010 at Netheravon Airfield, near Salisbury.
You will be strapped to an expert skydiver who, after 20 minutes training will take you up in the plane to 12,000 feet. You will then exit the aircraft and freefall at 120 miles an hour for 35 seconds before your parachute is opened and you continue your descent at a much more leisurely pace, taking in the beautiful views on the way down, something you will never forget!
Mary Parnell, who took part in our Summer Skydive in 2009, says “The experience was amazing, following a ‘mad but healthy’ prognosis from my doctor reality sunk in and I realised that I was actually going to do this. The freefall experience was extreme but when the parachute opened and I began floating through the air it was an indescribable experience. I am really glad I did it and I am proud to have been part of raising so much money for such a fantastic charity.”
Don't worry if you have never done this sort of thing before, everyone will be jumping together on the day and the fundraising team are on hand to provide support and advice to help you reach your fundraising target. The easiest way to raise funds is to set up a personalised webpage at JustGiving.com you can then be sponsored using a credit or debit card and the money is sent directly to Rose Road.
Also, please ensure that you encourage everyone who sponsors you to tick the Gift Aid box. This means that Rose Road can claim an additional 25p per £1 sponsored directly from the Inland Revenue.
