Sunday 18th July - Mapperton Farm, Dorset
Mapperton Farm in Dorset offers the crazy Kamikaze runner an 8 mile cross country course designed to test fitness, nerve and determination - are you up to the challenge?
The spurs and valleys of this amazing bit of land provide natural features which are further complemented by the radical and outrageous obstacles which have been thrown in for good measure. In true Kamikaze fashion race numbers are worn on headbands and the largest down hill slope on the course is used to provide the runners a flying start with the traditional Banzai charge. With more mud, hills and challenging hurdles then you have ever seen, expect this to be one event you will never forget.
Frazer Gilles from Barclaycard who took part in last year's event explains "The somewhat hilly Dorset landscape provided excellent terrain for the most ridiculous run I've ever taken part in. The joy of the near perfect conditions, sunshine and a slight breeze, lasted about as long as the starting pistol. This was greeted with a Kamikaze cry down the first near vertical slope straight into the peaty bog that waited for us at the bottom and the fun began! There is no denying that the course was hard work but it was also a great deal of fun and I can't wait to go for it again next year".
You can enter Kamikaze either as an individual or as part of a team of 3, so why not get your friends or colleagues involved in the madness. Entry is just £22 per person and not only is Kamikaze is a great way to raise money for the What a Difference a Day Makes Appeal it is also a fantastic team experience. With great facilities on the day, including free parking, hot food and drinks and full race commentary why not bring your family and friends along to join in the fun.
Although the course is physically demanding you do not have to be an Olympic athlete to take part - it is open to everyone whatever your age or fitness level.
