John Lewis

"We have relished working with Rose Road as our first Charity of the Year. Examples of how we have raised money for The Association include:

  • A quiz night and raffle with over 150 colleagues attending it was a really fun evening which raised £2000
  • A silent auction with products donated by ourselves and many of our suppliers.
    The auction raised over £2000!
  • At Christmas we asked colleagues to make a donation rather than send Christmas cards a simple way to raise money and help the environment too!
  • We have also provided volunteers for a variety of projects at Rose Road, along with advice and support regarding their shops in Gosport, Woolston and Portswood

Our partnership with Rose Road has provided real engagement with the community and our teams will be supporting the hugely important Children's Appeal; good luck!"

Hotel Terravina

Congratulations to Gerard Basset – The World's Best Sommelier! The competition which was held in Chile in April saw candidates from 51 countries take part. Both Gerard and Nina Basset have been long standing supporters of Rose Road.

"Gerard and I have never felt so moved to become involved as we have been with this charity, the Rose Road Association, which is not only local to Hotel TerraVina but is a very special place. The most compelling thing is that the people who are involved at Rose Road are so incredibly committed and passionate about the young people and what they can do for them - little things we take for granted everyday and for some with a limited ability to communicate we can help to make them feel so much more in control and fulfill their potential in life.

I recently visited the association and was humbled by what I saw and the tour I had - it was simply just incredibly moving to hear the stories, meet some of the fantastically dedicated staff and even meet some of the children themselves, all of whom seemed so happy."

Nina and Gerard Basset FIH, Hotel TerraVina
